Earring Care

Polymer Clay is surprisingly durable once baked and cured, but like all handmade jewelry, a little love goes a long way. Here's exactly how to keep your Lumi Atelier earrings looking fresh:

1. Keep them dry. Avoid wearing them in the shower, pool, hot tub, etc. Prolonged water exposure can eventually soften the sealants or cause delicate canes to swell.
2. Apply your fragrances, hairspray and sunscreen before putting on your earrings. Direct chemical sprays can dull finishes or make gloss look cloudy over time.
3. Gentle Cleaning. Wipe with a soft, damp cloth or a baby wipe if they get makeup or oils on them. For stubborn spots, use a drop of mild dish soap on a damp cotton swab, then immediately dry with a soft cloth.
4. Store thoughtfully. Keep them in a jewelry box or soft pouch away from direct sunlight. Lay them flat or hang them so delicate shapes don't bend over time.
